It’s that time of year again when Oxford starts to think about all things Alice. 2012 is the 150th anniversary of the first telling of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland so Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July Oxford will be packed full of frabjous Alice activity. The prime mover behind the weekend is the utterly inspiring Story Museum but loads of other Oxford institutions are joining in too – including, of course, ourselves.
One of the events that we are planning is, very simply, a reading of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland from start to finish, from 11am to 5pm on the day. We would like to get a large range of people reading sections of the book – fans, customers, booksellers, schoolchildren and authors – and we were hoping that we might be able to persuade you to take part? All we’d ask of you is that you come along to Blackwell’s Bookshop on the day and agreed to be part of our ‘tag-team’, reading from the book at the point where the last person left off. Let us know if you’d like to play by leaving a comment or by emailing email@example.com
